Best Long Lasting Lipstick

Women have exposed to grand claims about powders, pills, and serums that promise to turn the skin like a five-year-old, hair that would have stunning waves, and resolve everything from acne to brittle nails. All of these have been tried, tested, and found short. The only claim that has merit would be a product that has staying power. This is realistic such as mascara that can stay all day long without smudging according to the claim. This has to be real and expected to live up to the claim.

Lipsticks are one the makeup tools that a woman arms herself with and companies creating lines of lipsticks have claimed to make it long-wearing. Long-wearing enough to withstand a usual day in the life of women busy in their career, social life or just plain mom.

A test was done by some fashion editors to try lipsticks that claim to last all day with the participants doing their usual routine of guzzling coffee, gobbling or nibbling on turkey sandwiches, and even sharing a kiss to find out if the claims hold water and this is what they have found out:

Chanel Rouge Allure Intense Long-Wear Lip Colour in Precieus

A nude shade was chosen to wear in the test and tester says it applied smoothly almost like a lip balm but not sticky. Since it was a nude shade, nothing much happened after four hours when a few coffees have been consumed, yet, the people surrounding her remarked on her lovely peach lip color. It faded naturally and not long-lasting which needed to be refreshed.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in Eternal Rose

The first application was slick and glossy but not sticky. The electric pink color, with a built-in plumping effect, lasted all day. It lived up to its name of being ‘infallible’ with the electric pink color named ‘eternal’. It was applied at 9am and after 12 hours, looked like it has been freshly applied.

Lorac Lip Luxe 8 Hour Lip Color in Hot Pink

It is a matte lipstick that was a little hard to apply. Tester says it did not feel dry, but lipstick became set after application. The color seeped into the lip and stayed in place even after lunch and several cups of tea. The lipstick was all gone at the end of the day with no residue on the lips. It lived up to the claim of lasting for 8 hours.

MAC Pro Longwear Lip Crème in Overtime

The design of the applicator made it glide easily and it is clearly pigmented and creamy. After a period of five hours that included countless water drinks and a cup of coffee, the color evenly faded. There was no feathery or blotchy effect to the lips and tester says it is a bit drying to the lips.

Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipstick in Come to Bed Red

The application felt like a lip balm that is lotion-based, as what the tester says, which eventually dries to a rich matte after an hour. There was no color fading and dryness even after a long day and a huge cup of iced tea. The tester was impressed recommends this product.
