Use An Eye Primer

Eyeshadow often creases on hooded eyelids no matter what. Eyeliner will smudge and shift as well. An eye primer is quite different to a foundation primer that will keep your eyeshadow and eyeliner in place all day.

Apply Eyeshadow Higher Than Normal

Most eyeshadow techniques require you to be applied has high has a natural crease. With hooded lids, the technique is quite different. You want to apply color slightly above the crease so that you can actually see the color when your eyes are open. The trick is, have your eyes open and your eyebrows relaxed, look straight ahead in the mirror and then you can apply the eyeshadow above the crease. By doing this, it will put eyeshadow on the eyelid hood and create an illusion of the hoods receding.

Use A Fluffy Blending Brush

For those out there that are using makeup brushes, use a fluffy blending brush. By using that particular brush, you can really blend out the color which is perfect to hide the hooded look.

Use A Mid Tone Color

One certain mistake people out there can often make is by using a light, sparkly color all over the lid up to the crease. By using a light, sparkly eyeshadow color, it’s going to draw attention to those pesky hoods. Go for a mid tone color instead, not a light or a dark color just a medium color. Once you chose the color, place it on the crease and above it. Then you can start by applying the light sparkly color on the eyelid.

Always Pay Attention To Your Eyelashes

Apply a dark eyeliner really close to your lashes. This will make your eyelashes look thicker than normal, and it will help open your eyes much more. Smudge it out lightly with a stiff pencil brush, then curl your eyelashes and apply mascara. Now your eyes will looks super open!

Go Waterproof No Matter What

The best products that you can wear on your eyes is waterproof makeup. It will help your makeup application tremendously because if you don’t use these types of products, the mascara and eyeliner will just move and smudge everywhere since your hooded lids sitting so low and pushing down on your eyelashes.
