How to Achieve a Dramatic Look with Eyeshadow for Green Eyes
Women with lovely green eyes are exceptionally beautiful because not too many of them have the perfect shade of green. Some are paler while others are going towards the green and hazel tones. But the one thing that’s best about their eyes is the fact that it’s green which compliments every eye shadow color. Well, most of them anyway.
The tendency with choosing eye shadow colors that suits women with very light green eyes is to buy the palettes with the darker shades of all colors of the rainbow. That’s not actually recommended since you only have to stick to the basic shades. Here is the following tips for eyeshadow for green eyes:
- Rule of the Browns – If you have green eyes and have a dark hair color, better stick to the brown colors of espresso, dark chocolate or warm tones like the dark beige. What you do is to apply light beige on the base of the eyelid. Cover the entire eye with this base. Then use any darker tone – about two tones darker than the base to create the smokey dramatic effect. Take a flat brush, dab on the palette and then apply it on the crease of the eye moving towards the upper contours. Blend those out. Make sure to add a darker shade of brown on the outer edge of the eye towards the mascara line and also in your lower lid.
- Darkest Brown on the mascara line – On the upper lid, it’s advisable to pencil in or use a thin brush to apply a dark chocolate brown on the mascara line. Work from the outline working inwards to the inner lid. With a flat square brush, smudge out this color so it doesn’t look like a solid line. This alone would accentuate the contrast of the brown to green and defines the dramatic look even more.
- Blue or Purple Hues - Any dark color would create a dramatic look. Just don’t use any metallic hues because green and metallic shades of eye shadows don’t mix well. It creates a darkening effect that would overshadow the lightness of the eyes. Dark mattes of purple, blue, brown and Onyx is advised. But do this only for evening wear and never during the day. The dark colors don’t allow for it. Use any light colors as base on the eye makeup and dark colors on the crease of the eyes and the corners. The smokey effect is achieved here greatly. Remember, you don’t have to do too much makeup because your eyes already sparkle on their own. It’s best not to be too creative and keep it simple.
