Flawless Eyeshadow Techniques Used by Pros
One very good thing about applying eye shadow makeup is that it can give you a variety of looks. A good combination of colors can make your eyes shine more than any part on the face. Eye shadows define the eyes and give it the proper contour it needs to fit any look you want. More than anything, your eye makeup is what would create the look in the first place.
It may take a professional to perfect each eye makeup technique but it doesn’t mean you can’t pick up a few skills on your own. It’s not every day you can afford to be professionally dolled up, after all, so learning these eyeshadow techniques will help you get your look right. Here are some eyeshadow techniques used by pros:
- The Quad-Color Technique – It’s not necessary to use quad colors all the time but if you want to use them, this is how to do it. The lightest color is used under the brow. Take a flat tip brush and apply this on the right spot and smoothen it out. The second light color on the palette is used on the center of the lid to illuminate. Using the same type of brush, dab on the color and apply on the center. Swipe from side to side to even out the blend on the lid. Work the color up to the brow. Next, the mid-tone color is used to define the crease of the eye. Apply it on the corner of the eyelid in a V-shape. Don’t go all the way into the inner part of the lid. This shapes and contours the eye. Lastly, the deepest color is to define the look of the eye makeup. Use it on the mascara line blending slowly into the inner part and on the bottom lid as well.
- The Two-Toned Color Technique – The first base color opens up the eyes, and the darker shade highlights the shape. First you dab a small brush and apply directly on enter of eyelids. Dabbing it on would allow you to put more color in. Then using a contour brush, pat on the darker shade and apply on the corners of the eye. Start at the lid and then on the corner crease. Blend it out and it’s done. This gives the illusion of bigger eyes. Two tones are great for greater almond shape eyes. It’s the easiest professional looking eye makeup you can do for every day wear. In all techniques, the key is blending. Once you master that, you’re good to go.
