Makeup For Asian Eyes: Make Them Look Pretty

Asia is a huge continent with several countries. Different countries have different people. All the different regions vary in terms of their body features, accent, language, religion, beliefs, etc. In terms of body features, Indians are different than the Chinese and therefore, their eyes are also differently shaped.

The makeup is basically the same; there are small eyes, big eyes, narrow eyes, wide eyes, etc. Some technical terms for the different types of eyes that the Asians have are: ideal or perfect eyes; wide set eyes; close set; big eyes; thin and narrow; round, small round; down turned; prominent; deep set; puffy; triangular; hooded; phoenix; slanted; etc.

The above mentioned types of eyes are different from each other and require different types of makeup. For small eyes, white liner down the waterline would make it look bigger; for proportionate eyes, thick dark eye shadow would do greatly; for round ones, giving a edge to the eyes by pulling the liner towards the outer edge of the upper lash line and covering it would give the illusion of a different shape, etc. One can also use makeup to get an Asian look.

In terms of general tips for makeup for Asian eyes, some of them are as follows:

  • To start with, use a primer and concealer; primer is an optional thing but it would help the makeup to stick and also stay longer.
  • The second step is the application of the eye shadow. In this case, you can use at about three shades. Start with a light shade and apply it across the lid.
  • Then use a medium shade and finally a darker shade. Apply this dark shade on the contour and not on the crease. Blend it slowly and pull it towards the inner corner. The contour goes better than on the crease for Asians as for them, the crease and the contour are not the same.
  • The next step would be to use a light shade on the brow bone as well as on the inner corner.
  • After the eye shadow part is over, the next step is to apply the liner. Apply the liner on both the upper lash line as well as the lower water line. Also use mascara on both the upper and lower lashes.
  • Also keep in mind to go with a contrast in the color of the shadow to that of the iris. This makes the look better and more accentuated.
  • You may also go for curlers so as to curl the lashes. It will make the eyes pop out and long bigger and brighter.
  • You can use glitter for a party; you can also get a smoky look by using the liner right and smudging it a bit.
  • You can also get a winged smoky look by applying black shadow in a ‘whale’ shape.

All in all, the above tips are going to help you on makeup for Asian eyes. However, some general rules apply; do not rush, be patient and apply the makeup slowly.
