Simple Makeup Ideas for Green Eyes
Green eyes on women have always been a sought-after look because with the perfect makeup, you can create a look that makes the eye crisper and amazingly clearer looking - greener, so to speak. You can actually experiment on many makeup looks but there are only a few, two actually, that would really work best for green eyes.
But first, here’s a rule: Always prep your eyes with a good primer. Use a foundation to even out your skin tone on the face the base of the jaw. This way you’ll have an even surface to work with. If you’ve got the green on your iris, here are two of the best makeup ideas for green eyes worth checking out:
- Soft and Sultry Look – This is what happens when you have a monochromatic eye shadow. The colors that you can play around with are sage, molasses, green-gold and then mix it up with combinations of purples, rose, pinks and mauves. To achieve this look, apply a light mint green to the inner corner of the eye and working outwards along the upper and lower lash lines. And then dab on a moss or sage eye shadow and then smoothen this out. Blending is key from the outer corner moving inwards and top to bottom of the lid. Lastly, run a forest green liner along the upper lash. This would intensify the green colors. Top this look off with dark mascara.
- Bold and Contemporary Look – This is achieved by using the contemporary and bright eye shadows for a fresh perspective on your green eyes. First, prep the lid with any eye base color. Beige works best for this. Then, apply a cream-colored eye shadow on the full lid, using a finger if you’re not yet comfortable with a brush to do this. Dab this from lash line to the brow bone. Then, use a peach eye shadow and apply on the upper lid, from lash line moving towards the crease. Run the same peach color on the lower lashes. You may also replace these colors with a warm purple after the base and then running a strawberry red into the crease to increase the dramatic effect on eyes. Use the same red color on the lower lid. Finish this look off with good mascara. You’d feel very lucky that you’ve been naturally gifted with an eye color which combines well with the bolder colors for this look. Don’t be afraid to experiment on your own. You’ve got the perfect eye color to do just that.
