Natural Eyeshadow
Natural Eyeshadow
A classic natural look can make one’s appearance simple yet sophisticated. Although using eye shadows with lots of glitters and wing-shaped eyeliners are trendy nowadays, a simple but elegant application of naturaleyeshadow can either make or break one’s beauty.
Elle Leary, a makeup artist based in Los Angeles gives us the following beauty tips and tricks. We must keep in mind that natural makeup means that we are using palettes of colors from the same family. A simple look or au naturel makeup uses semi-matte to matte eye shadows. Anything too sparkly or full of glam can look like it’s overdone.
Tricks and Tips For A Natural Eyeshadow Look
Below are some tricks to achieve that natural but glamorous makeup.
- Maybelline Expert Wear EyeShadow can do the trick when choosing eyeshadows. Opt for 3 colors of eye shadows from the same family. A Claudio Riaz Chicago Palette can really help well when you are in doubt in choosing the right makeup colors that will look well with your skin tone. We normally use Natural Smokes as one of our favorites.
- Use a darker color of eyeshadows when painting the eyelid.
- The lightest color should be applied to the brow bone down to the lash line.
- The darkest shade should be applied on the crease. Blend the eye shadow thoroughly with a brush.
- Lastly, Leary recommends a repeatedly blending of the colors until you achieve an effortless a mixture of eyeshadows across the eye.
How to Apply Natural Eyeshadow Cosmopolitan Style
- Assistant Beauty and Fashion Editor of the magazine Cosmopolitan, Brooke Shunatona recommends the application of brownish gray colors such as taupe over the eyelids. Apply more color towards the lashline.
- Line a black gel liner along the top lash line of your eyes. You should use waterproof gel liner to avoid panda eyes. Increase the color or thickness of the line as you approach the outer corner of your eye.
- Use a black gel liner and a brush with a flat tip in order to intensify the outer corners of your eye. This is called a cat’s eye. Emphasize the outer corners by adding eyeliner from the center towards the corner of the eye. Brooke also added that the lower and upper eyeliners should meet at the corners of the eye. Brush and blend well to make it appear seamless.
- Finish the touches with a natural cream color highlighter over the Cupid’s bow and on the middle of the lower lip. Apply a pink gloss lipstick that complements your skin color for a natural, flawless and fresh look.
Other Tips On Natural Eyeshadow
- Start by washing, moisturizing and toning your skin to fool them in getting that natural look.
- Apply a brown or a dark brown mascara to tone up a bit. Give your black mascara a bit of a break and try a little contrast of color to your eyes.
- Use skin-toned matte eyeshadows instead of powders that will look like a white icing sitting on your face whole day long. Matte eyeshadows smooth your skin but do not appear that you are wearing any makeup at all.
Follow these simple steps to achieve a simple but naturally flawless look.
